- For the Seasoned Beef:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 packet (or homemade) Taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- For the Seasoned Rice:
- 1 cup cooked white rice (jasmine or long-grain)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- Other Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded three-cheese blend (cheddar, Monterey Jack, mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup crispy tortilla strips (or crushed tortilla chips)
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Cook the Seasoned Beef:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart while cooking.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat.
- Prepare the Seasoned Rice:
- In a bowl, mix cooked rice with butter, salt, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Stir well and set aside.
- Assemble the Burritos:
- Warm the flour tortillas in a dry pan for 15–20 seconds per side.
- Spread nacho cheese sauce in the center.
- Add a scoop of seasoned rice, then a layer of seasoned beef.
- Sprinkle with three-cheese blend and crispy tortilla strips.
- Drizzle with sour cream.
- Fold & Toast the Burrito:
- Fold in the sides, then roll tightly from the bottom up.
- Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and lightly toast each burrito for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve & Enjoy!
- Slice in half and serve with hot sauce, salsa, or guacamole.
Notes
- Swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Add black beans or refried beans for extra protein.
- Want it spicier? Add jalapeños or hot sauce.
