Description

- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strawberry preserves or jam
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp water
- Fresh strawberries and powdered sugar for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep Puff Pastry: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter or freehand with a knife.
- Mix Filling: In a bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Assemble Danishes: Place half of the heart-shaped cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Add a spoonful of cream cheese filling in the center, then top with a small dollop of strawberry preserves.
- Seal & Top: Brush edges with egg wash (egg + water). Place another heart on top and press edges gently with a fork to seal. Brush tops with egg wash.
- Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
- Cool & Serve: Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
