- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (sandy texture recommended)
- 1/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Green Beans:
- Wash and trim green beans. Pat them dry thoroughly to remove excess moisture.
2. Sauté the Green Beans:
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add green beans, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to coat.
- Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp.
3. Make the Parmesan Crust:
- Remove the lid and push green beans to one side of the skillet.
- Add minced garlic, Panko breadcrumbs, and half of the Parmesan to the empty side.
- Cook, stirring frequently, for 2–3 minutes, until the breadcrumbs and Parmesan turn golden and crispy.
4. Combine and Finish:
- Mix the crispy Parmesan mixture with the green beans until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top and let it melt slightly for an extra cheesy finish.
