- 1 tbsp matcha green tea powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with 4 cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and mix until combined.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide batter evenly among the 4 liners.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting if desired.
