Description

These Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos are the ultimate set-it-and-forget-it meal! Just toss the ingredients in the crockpot and let it do all the work. Perfectly seasoned, tender shredded chicken makes taco night easy, delicious, and stress-free.


Ingredients

  • .5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
  • 1 cup salsa or Rotel
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (optional)
  • Taco shells or tortillas for serving
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, avocado, cilantro

Instructions

  • Place chicken in the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle with taco seasoning and pour salsa and chicken broth over the top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender.
  • Shred chicken with two forks in the slow cooker and mix with juices.
  • Serve in taco shells or tortillas with your favorite toppings.

  • Add a can of black beans or corn for extra texture and flavor.
