Description

Silken tofu is a delicate, smooth tofu variety commonly used in soups, desserts, and sauces. It has a high moisture content and a custard-like texture, making it ideal for both savory and sweet dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block silken tofu (approx. 14 oz or 400g)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar (optional)
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp chili oil or to taste (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Carefully remove silken tofu from its package and place it on a serving dish. Drain excess water.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar (if using).
  3. Drizzle the sauce over the tofu.
  4. Top with chopped green onions, grated ginger, and chili oil if desired.
  5. Sprinkle a little salt if needed.
  6. Serve immediately as a side dish or appetizer.

Notes

  • Silken tofu is very delicate; handle with care to prevent breaking.
  • You can customize toppings like bonito flakes, sesame seeds, or garlic chips.
  • Serve chilled for a refreshing side or warm it slightly for a comforting touch.
