Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or neutral oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, etc.)
  • 1012 frozen dumplings (pork, chicken, or veggie)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in broth and water. Bring to a gentle boil.
  • Add frozen dumplings and vegetables. Cook according to dumpling package instructions, usually 6–8 minutes.
  • Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce if using. Simmer another 2–3 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Ladle into bowls and top with green onions and herbs. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use store-bought dumplings to keep things super quick.
  • Add bok choy, mushrooms, or spinach for extra greens.
  • Switch up the broth—bone broth, miso broth, or spicy ramen-style are great.
  • For a heartier meal, add cooked noodles or shredded rotisserie chicken.
