Description

A creamy and flavorful pasta dish made with a pink sauce, which is a blend of marinara and cream, offering the best of both red and white sauces.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant and soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Mix well until the sauce becomes a pink color.
  5. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and combined. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
  • Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for a protein boost.
