Description

This One Pot Creamy Mac and Cheese is the ultimate comfort food! Made with just one pot and simple ingredients, this stovetop recipe delivers a rich and cheesy dish in under 30 minutes—perfect for busy weeknights or a quick indulgent meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni or pasta of your choice
  • 3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 1/2 cups sharp cheddar, freshly grated
  • 2 cups mozzarella, freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons paprika (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients:
    • Grate the cheese and gather all ingredients.
  • Cook the Pasta:
    • In a medium-sized pot, add the uncooked pasta and water.
    • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to medium-low.
    • Cook the pasta according to package instructions or until al dente.
    • Ensure there is a small amount of water remaining in the pot when the pasta is done (do not drain).
  • Combine Ingredients:
    • Reduce the heat to low and add heavy cream, grated cheddar, grated mozzarella, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, mustard, and sugar to the pot.
    • Stir continuously until all the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
  • Serve:
    • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
    • Serve immediately while hot for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Cheese Combinations: Experiment with different cheeses like Gruyère, Parmesan, or Monterey Jack for unique flavors.
  • Adjust Consistency: If the pasta absorbs too much sauce, add a splash of milk or cream to loosen it.
  • Make It Your Own: Add cooked bacon, sautéed vegetables, or a sprinkle of breadcrumbs for extra flair.
