Description

Wake up to the comforting taste of Old-Fashioned Pancakes, made just the way Grandma used to! These fluffy, golden pancakes are easy to whip up and perfect for a cozy breakfast or brunch. Top with syrup, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings for a delicious start to the day.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add Wet Ingredients:
    • Whisk in melted butter, egg, and milk until just combined. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes for the fluffiest pancakes.
  • Preheat Skillet:
    • Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Lightly coat with cooking spray.
  • Cook the Pancakes:
    • Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake.
    • Cook for 2–3 minutes, or until bubbles form around the edges and center of the pancake.
    • Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Serve:
    • Serve warm with syrup, butter, fruit, or any of your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Resting the Batter: Allowing the batter to rest helps the baking powder activate, creating extra fluffy pancakes.
  • Custom Toppings: Add chocolate chips, blueberries, or chopped nuts to the batter for a fun twist.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave or toaster.
