Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 10 oz linguine
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Beef:
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add Aromatics:
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- Stir in soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Thicken the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water until dissolved. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- Combine with Noodles:
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss until fully coated in the sauce. Let the noodles sit for 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle sliced green onions on top before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- Browning the beef well enhances its flavor.
- Adjust the spice level with red pepper flakes to suit your taste.
- For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey or chicken.
