- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp matcha powder
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together sugar, buttermilk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fill doughnut pan cavities about 3/4 full with batter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let doughnuts cool completely before glazing.
- To make the matcha glaze, whisk powdered sugar, matcha powder, and milk until smooth and pourable.
- Dip the top of each doughnut into the glaze and let set on a wire rack.
