Description

Soft and chewy matcha cookies with a delicate earthy flavor and a hint of sweetness, perfect for tea lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and roll into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
