Description

A creamy and rich matcha-flavored cheesecake with a buttery graham cracker crust, combining the earthy flavor of green tea with the smooth texture of classic cheesecake.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl. Press mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream.
  5. Dissolve the matcha powder in heavy cream, then add to the batter and mix until evenly blended.
  6. Pour the batter over the crust in the pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and only slightly jiggles.
  8. Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense matcha flavor, increase the matcha powder to 3 tablespoons.
  • Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature to avoid lumps in the batter.
  • Serve with whipped cream or a dusting of matcha on top for presentation.
