Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Pasta:

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta:

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.

2. Season and Cook the Chicken:

  • Rub chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

3. Make the Creamy Sauce:

  • Using the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add heavy cream, stirring until heated. Mix in Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and reserved pasta water until smooth and creamy.

4. Combine:

  • Toss cooked pasta in the creamy sauce until coated. Slice the chicken and arrange it over the pasta.

5. Garnish and Serve:

  • Sprinkle with parsley and additional Parmesan cheese. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added flavor, deglaze the skillet with a splash of white wine before adding the butter.
  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
