Description

This Lemon Butter Baked Cod is a simple yet elegant dish featuring flaky cod fillets baked in a zesty garlic lemon butter sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, this healthy and light seafood recipe is perfect for quick dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Place cod fillets in the baking dish and spoon the lemon butter mixture evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon slices.

Notes

  • Cod can be swapped for haddock, tilapia, or halibut.
  • Add a splash of white wine to the baking dish for extra depth.
  • Great served over rice, quinoa, or steamed veggies.
