Description

Lavender Lemonade is a beautifully fragrant twist on classic lemonade, combining the bright zest of lemon with soothing floral notes of culinary lavender. Naturally stunning with a soft purple hue, it’s the perfect drink for spring brunches, summer parties, or a calming refreshment any time of year.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 3/4 cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cups water, divided
  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and lavender sprigs (for garnish)
  • Optional: a drop of purple food coloring for a vibrant hue

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar (or honey), and dried lavender. Bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
  • Remove from heat and let steep for 10–15 minutes. Strain to remove lavender buds.
  • In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, remaining 2 cups of cold water, and the lavender syrup.
  • Stir well and adjust sweetness or lemon juice to taste.
  • Chill in the refrigerator or serve immediately over ice.
  • Garnish with lemon slices and lavender sprigs.

Notes

  • Use only food-grade lavender—ornamental varieties can be bitter or unsafe.
  • For a stronger lavender flavor, steep longer or double the dried lavender.
  • Add sparkling water for a bubbly version.
  • A tiny drop of beet juice or blueberry juice can enhance the color naturally.
