Description

Lasagna Roll-Ups are a fun, elegant twist on traditional lasagna—featuring tender lasagna noodles rolled up with a rich ricotta filling and smothered in savory marinara sauce and melted cheese. Perfect for portion control, make-ahead meals, or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped spinach, cooked ground beef, or sautéed mushrooms for added filling
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and lay flat on a baking sheet or parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add optional fillings if desired.
  • Spread 1–2 tablespoons of the ricotta mixture onto each noodle. Roll up tightly from one end.
  • Spread 1/2 cup marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange roll-ups seam-side down.
  • Top with remaining sauce and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use oven-ready noodles to skip boiling.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Easily make ahead and freeze before baking.
  • Use vegan cheeses for a dairy-free version.
