Description

This Italian Beef Sandwich is the ultimate comfort food — tender, slow-cooked beef infused with Italian herbs, simmered with peppers, and piled high on crusty rolls. Perfect for game day, weeknight dinners, or anytime you crave a meaty, juicy sandwich!


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 jar (16 oz) pepperoncini (with juice)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 6 hoagie or Italian sandwich rolls
  • Optional: sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Place beef roast in slow cooker. Add Italian dressing mix, beef broth, pepperoncini (with juice), bell pepper, onion, garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until beef is fork-tender.
  • Shred beef in the slow cooker and mix with juices.
  • Serve on toasted hoagie rolls with optional melted cheese. Spoon extra juice over the sandwich if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, use hot giardiniera or add crushed red pepper.
