Description

A simple and effective method to cook chicken breast that results in juicy, tender meat every time, perfect for meal prep or quick dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the chicken breasts in the pan and cook without moving for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Flip the chicken breasts and reduce the heat to medium. Cover and cook for another 5–7 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Letting the chicken rest helps retain juices.
  • Pounding ensures even cooking and prevents dryness.
  • Use a meat thermometer for best results.
