- 2 slices white bread
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter or fruit jam
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional)
- Butter for frying

- 1 small piece of butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Spread peanut butter or jam on one slice of bread and place the other slice on top to make a sandwich.
- In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs (and milk if using).
- Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring all sides are well-coated.
- Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the sandwich until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and place on a serving plate.
- Top with a small piece of butter and drizzle with syrup or honey before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute peanut butter with fruit jam or other sweet spreads.
- Traditionally, this is deep-fried, but pan-frying in butter is a popular home alternative.
- Serve hot for the best taste.
