Instructions
- Spread peanut butter evenly between the two slices of bread to form a sandwich.
- In a bowl, beat the egg with milk (if using) until well mixed.
- Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and melt a knob of butter.
- Fry the sandwich until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and place on a plate.
- Top with a small slab of butter and drizzle with syrup.
- Serve hot.
