- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, olive oil, garlic, basil, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Optional: Remove the chicken and shred it, then return to the slow cooker and stir to coat with sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
