Description

This quick and easy honey garlic shrimp is loaded with bold flavor from a sweet and savory glaze made with honey, soy sauce, and fresh garlic. Ready in under 20 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights and tastes amazing served over rice, noodles, or veggies.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (optional for extra flavor)
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger (if using).
  • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
  • Heat olive oil (and sesame oil, if using) in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and just cooked through.
  • Pour in honey garlic sauce and simmer 1–2 minutes.
  • Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook another minute to thicken sauce.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the shrimp — they cook fast!
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes or Sriracha for a spicy kick.
