  • 1/4 cup cornstarch (for coating)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • Garnish (Optional):
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken:
  • In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Toss the chicken pieces in the mixture until evenly coated.
  • Cook the Chicken:
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes, turning until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, and red pepper flakes.
  • Mix the cornstarch slurry and pour it into the sauce.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Coat the Chicken & Serve:
  • Return the cooked chicken to the pan and toss until fully coated.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double fry the chicken.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
