- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
- For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- Garnish (Optional):
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Toss the chicken pieces in the mixture until evenly coated.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes, turning until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove and set aside.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, and red pepper flakes.
- Mix the cornstarch slurry and pour it into the sauce.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Coat the Chicken & Serve:
- Return the cooked chicken to the pan and toss until fully coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or vegetables.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double fry the chicken.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
