- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling, about 175°F/80°C)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mash the strawberries with sugar or honey until juicy and slightly pureed.
- Pour the mashed strawberry mixture into the bottom of a glass.
- Add ice cubes over the strawberry layer.
- Pour milk slowly over the ice to create a separate layer.
- In another bowl, whisk matcha powder with hot water until fully dissolved and frothy.
- Slowly pour the matcha over the back of a spoon to layer it on top of the milk.
- Serve immediately and stir before drinking if desired.
