Description

A refreshing and visually stunning layered drink combining sweet strawberries and earthy matcha, perfect for a summer treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling, about 175°F/80°C)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mash the strawberries with sugar or honey until juicy and slightly pureed.
  2. Pour the mashed strawberry mixture into the bottom of a glass.
  3. Add ice cubes over the strawberry layer.
  4. Pour milk slowly over the ice to create a separate layer.
  5. In another bowl, whisk matcha powder with hot water until fully dissolved and frothy.
  6. Slowly pour the matcha over the back of a spoon to layer it on top of the milk.
  7. Serve immediately and stir before drinking if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness based on taste preference.
  • Use a matcha whisk or frother for best results.
  • Almond, oat, or soy milk work well for dairy-free options.
