Scale
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1–2 tbsp cold water
Instructions
- Blend the Dough: In a food processor, pulse cheese, butter, flour, salt, and paprika until crumbly. Add cold water 1 tbsp at a time and pulse until a dough forms.
- Chill: Shape dough into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.
- Roll & Cut: On a floured surface, roll dough to about 1/8-inch thick. Use a mini fish-shaped cutter (or any small cutter) to cut out shapes.
- Bake: Place on a lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- Cool: Let crackers cool completely to crisp up. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
- Use extra-sharp cheddar for bold flavor, or try white cheddar or Parmesan.
- No food processor? Grate cheese finely and rub ingredients together with your fingers.
- Want extra crispy? Bake a few extra minutes, watching carefully not to burn.
- Fun for kids: Let them use tiny cookie cutters to create custom shapes.
