Description

Turn a classic favorite into a fun and portable treat with Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups! These cheesy, buttery roll-ups are quick to make and perfect for kids or anyone craving a simple, comforting snack or lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (or sliced cheese like American)
  • 6 slices of thinly sliced ham (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread:
    • Trim the crusts off the bread slices and roll each slice flat with a rolling pin.
  2. Add Filling:
    • Sprinkle shredded cheese or place a slice of cheese on each piece of bread.
    • Add a slice of ham on top if desired.
  3. Roll Up:
    • Roll the bread tightly to form a log. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
  4. Cook the Roll-Ups:
    • Heat a skillet over medium to medium-low heat. Melt the butter in the skillet.
    • Place the roll-ups in the pan and cook for 5–8 minutes, turning periodically with tongs to ensure even browning.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the roll-ups from the skillet and cut them in half, if desired. Serve warm!

Notes

  • Use leftover bread crusts for breadcrumbs, toast sticks, or to feed ducks.
  • Experiment with different cheese and filling combinations, such as turkey or bacon.
  • Serve with tomato soup or dipping sauces like ranch or marinara for extra flavor.
