Description

Green Tea is a simple, soothing beverage made by steeping young tea leaves. Known for its fresh flavor and natural health benefits, it’s perfect for starting your morning, aiding digestion, or enjoying a mindful moment during the day.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 teaspoon loose leaf green tea (or 1 green tea bag)
  • 1 cup water (not boiling – about 160-180°F or 70-80°C)
  • Optional: lemon slice, honey, or fresh mint

Instructions

  • Heat the Water:
  • Heat water to just before boiling (around 160–180°F). Avoid boiling to preserve the delicate tea flavor.
  • Steep the Tea:
  • Place green tea leaves or bag in a cup or teapot. Pour hot water over the tea and steep for 1–3 minutes. The shorter the steep, the lighter the flavor.
  • Serve:
  • Remove tea leaves or bag. Add lemon, honey, or mint if desired. Sip slowly and enjoy.

Notes

  • Over-steeping can make green tea bitter.
  • Matcha is a powdered green tea with a bolder, creamier texture.
  • Great hot or chilled—add ice for a refreshing iced version!
