Description

This Giant Donut Cake is a playful dessert shaped and decorated like a classic sprinkled donut—except it’s cake! Made with moist vanilla cake, pink glaze, and colorful sprinkles, it’s as fun to make as it is to eat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the cake
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • For the glaze
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring
  • Rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-cup bundt pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  • Add flour mixture in thirds, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour into bundt pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cool, flip the bundt cake upside down for a donut look.
  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and pink food coloring until smooth.
  • Pour glaze over the top, letting it drip down the sides. Add sprinkles immediately.
  • Let the glaze set before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use a chocolate glaze or colored glaze to match your theme.
  • You can slice the cake horizontally and fill it with frosting or jam for extra layers.
  • Great centerpiece for birthdays or donut-themed parties!
