Description

These Braided Sesame Rolls with Chicken are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and filled with a flavorful chicken mixture. The perfect combination of savory filling and fluffy bread, topped with a golden sesame crust. Ideal for lunch, dinner, or as a festive snack.


Ingredients

  • For the Dough:

    • 500 g flour
    • 7 g dry yeast (or 25 g fresh yeast)
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 250 ml lukewarm milk
    • 50 g butter (melted)
    • 1 egg
    • 1 extra egg (for brushing)
    • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

    For the Chicken Filling:

    • 300 g chicken breast (cut into small pieces)
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 small onion (chopped)
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
    • 1 tbsp mustard
    • 50 g grated cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:

    • In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
    • Add lukewarm milk, melted butter, and the egg.
    • Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Cover and let rise until doubled in volume (about 1 hour).
  • Make the Chicken Filling:

    • Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
    • Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and fully cooked.
    • Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Let cool slightly and mix with mayonnaise, mustard, and grated cheese (optional).
  • Shape the Rolls:

    • Divide the dough into 6-8 equal pieces and roll each into an oval shape.
    • Cut slits on both sides and place the chicken filling in the center.
    • Fold the dough strips over the filling to create a braided pattern.
  • Brush & Bake:

    • Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool & Serve:

    • Let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
