Description

This Garlic Sauce for Pizza is buttery, aromatic, and packed with flavor! With garlic, herbs, and a touch of spice, it’s the perfect addition to homemade pizza or breadsticks. Ready in just 10 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter
    • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  2. Cook the Garlic
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and just starts to turn golden.
  3. Add Herbs and Spices
    • Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly, to release the flavors of the herbs.
  4. Season the Sauce
    • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  5. Cool and Use
    • Let the garlic sauce cool slightly before using as a sauce for your pizza. It can also be drizzled over crusts or served as a dipping sauce for breadsticks.

Notes

  • For a creamier version, stir in 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese before removing the sauce from heat.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently before using.
