- 12 oz spaghetti
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus more for garnish)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Spaghetti
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package instructions.
- Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Step 2: Make the Bolognese Sauce
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning as needed.
Step 3: Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce
- In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth.
- Toss the cooked spaghetti in the garlic butter sauce. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
