- 14 oz (400g) firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Drain the tofu and press it for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water.
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or slices as desired.
- In a bowl, toss tofu with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss again to coat evenly.
- Heat oil in a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the tofu pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce or add to your favorite dish.
Notes
- Pressing the tofu is essential to achieve crispiness.
- Firm or extra-firm tofu works best for frying.
- For a spicier flavor, add chili flakes or hot sauce to the marinade.
