- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and trim the ends off the green beans.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add green beans and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
- Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Drain again.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp.
- Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice if using. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use the freshest green beans for best texture and flavor.
- Lemon juice adds brightness but is optional.
- Can be topped with slivered almonds or grated Parmesan cheese for variation.
