Ingredients
Scale
- 2 apples (any kind – Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji)
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (at least 70% cacao)
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
- Optional Toppings:
- Chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios)
- Shredded coconut
- Chia seeds
- Sea salt
- Crushed freeze-dried berries
Instructions
- Prep Apples: Wash and slice apples into thin rounds or wedges. Pat dry to help chocolate stick.
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in 20-second intervals, stirring between until smooth.
- Dip or Drizzle: Dip apple slices halfway into the melted chocolate or drizzle over with a spoon.
- Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle on your favorite toppings.
- Set: Place slices on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 10–15 minutes to set.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 1 day.
Notes
- Best served fresh to keep apples crisp.
- Use almond butter or peanut butter for a protein-boosted drizzle.
- Try green apples for a tart contrast to the sweet chocolate.
- Great for lunchboxes or party platters!
