Description

A Dirty Chai Latte is a flavorful fusion of a traditional chai tea latte and a shot of espresso, offering a spiced, caffeinated beverage that’s perfect for a warm and cozy treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 chai tea bag or 1 tablespoon loose chai tea
  • 1 shot (1 oz) espresso
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sweetener of choice (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil and steep the chai tea for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bag or strain the loose tea leaves.
  3. Add milk to the brewed tea and heat until warm, but do not boil.
  4. Froth the milk mixture using a frother, whisk, or blender until foamy.
  5. Brew a shot of espresso and pour it into a mug.
  6. Pour the chai milk mixture over the espresso.
  7. Add sweetener and vanilla extract if desired, and stir gently.
  8. Sprinkle with cinnamon for garnish and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use decaf espresso for a lower caffeine option.
  • Adjust the sweetness and spice level to your preference.
  • Can be made iced by chilling the tea and milk and serving over ice.
