Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 sugar or waffle cones
  • 4 scoops of your favorite ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, etc.)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for deep frying
  • Whipped cream, sprinkles, or chocolate syrup (for topping)

Instructions

  • Scoop ice cream into tight balls, place each in a cone, and freeze for at least 2 hours or until very firm.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Add egg and milk, whisking into a smooth batter.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Dip the frozen ice cream cone fully into the batter, coating well.
  • Carefully lower into the hot oil and fry for 10–15 seconds until golden.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Top with whipped cream, syrup, or sprinkles and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure the ice cream is frozen solid before frying to prevent melting.
  • For extra crunch, roll the cone in crushed cornflakes or cookie crumbs before battering.
  • Handle with care—frying too long can cause ice cream to burst.
