For the Cheesecake Filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
For the Wonton Wrappers:
- 20–24 wonton wrappers
For Frying:
- Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Optional for Serving:
- Strawberry jam
- Whipped cream
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cheesecake Filling
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in diced strawberries. Set the filling aside.
Step 2: Assemble the Wontons
- Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
- Scoop 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling into the center.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold into your desired shape, pressing firmly to seal.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Step 3: Fry the Wontons
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry a few wontons at a time for 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 4: Coat with Cinnamon Sugar
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Toss the warm wontons in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve the wonton bites warm, optionally with strawberry jam or whipped cream for dipping.
