Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  3. Transfer the beef mixture to a crockpot.
  4. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours.
  6. Serve the mixture on hamburger buns.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Great to prepare ahead for busy weekdays.
  • Add a splash of hot sauce for a spicier version.
