Description

An air fryer for crispy, flavorful results without deep frying. This easy recipe uses a blend of spices, lime juice, and olive oil to create a perfectly seasoned, healthy, and delicious fish dish in just an hour.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Fish:

  • 2 large bream, gutted and de-scaled
  • 1/2 tsp jerk seasoning paste
  • 2 tbsp seafood seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Side:

  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (optional)

Other:

  • Splash of water

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Fish

  1. Rinse the fish under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Using a sharp knife, score the fish on both sides with diagonal cuts to help the seasoning penetrate.

Step 2: Season the Fish

  1. In a small bowl, mix jerk seasoning paste, seafood seasoning, paprika, lime juice, olive oil, and a splash of water to create a marinade.
  2. Rub the marinade generously over the fish, ensuring it gets into the scores and inside the cavity.

Step 3: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Cook the Fish

  1. Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the fish in the basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  3. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. The fish is done when the skin is crispy, and the flesh is flaky and opaque.

Step 5: Prepare the Vegetables (Optional)

  1. Toss the mixed vegetables with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add them to the air fryer during the last 8-10 minutes of cooking.

Step 6: Serve

  1. Remove the fish and vegetables from the air fryer and serve immediately. Garnish with additional lime juice or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Substitute bream with other whole fish like snapper or tilapia.
  • Adjust seasoning levels to taste—add more jerk paste for extra heat.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
