For the Fish:
- 2 large bream, gutted and de-scaled
- 1/2 tsp jerk seasoning paste
- 2 tbsp seafood seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Side:
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (optional)
Other:
- Splash of water
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Fish
- Rinse the fish under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Using a sharp knife, score the fish on both sides with diagonal cuts to help the seasoning penetrate.
Step 2: Season the Fish
- In a small bowl, mix jerk seasoning paste, seafood seasoning, paprika, lime juice, olive oil, and a splash of water to create a marinade.
- Rub the marinade generously over the fish, ensuring it gets into the scores and inside the cavity.
Step 3: Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Cook the Fish
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Place the fish in the basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. The fish is done when the skin is crispy, and the flesh is flaky and opaque.
Step 5: Prepare the Vegetables (Optional)
- Toss the mixed vegetables with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add them to the air fryer during the last 8-10 minutes of cooking.
Step 6: Serve
- Remove the fish and vegetables from the air fryer and serve immediately. Garnish with additional lime juice or fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
- Substitute bream with other whole fish like snapper or tilapia.
- Adjust seasoning levels to taste—add more jerk paste for extra heat.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
