- 1 lb salmon fillet, skinless and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate the salmon cubes in buttermilk for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
- Remove salmon from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and coat each piece in the flour mixture.
- Fry the salmon bites in batches for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey to make the bang bang sauce.
- Toss the fried salmon bites in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
