Description
Crab Rangoon is a popular appetizer made of crispy fried wontons filled with a creamy mixture of crab meat, cream cheese, and seasonings.

- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 oz crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation), chopped
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Place about 1 tsp of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Brush the edges of the wrapper with beaten egg, then fold and seal tightly to form a triangle or a flower shape.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the filled wontons in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with sweet and sour sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Do not overfill the wontons to avoid leaks while frying.
- Seal edges well to prevent filling from spilling out during frying.
- Can be baked or air fried as a healthier alternative.
