Description

A moist and flavorful butter cake infused with vibrant matcha green tea powder, delivering a delicate balance of sweetness and earthy bitterness.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use high-quality matcha powder for the best flavor and vibrant color.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake tender.
  • Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with white chocolate for extra decoration.
