For the Meatballs:
- 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 2/3 cup milk (any type)
- 1 lb. ground beef (or preferred meat)
- 1/4 medium onion, finely chopped or grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano recommended)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
Step 2: Prepare the Breadcrumb Mixture
- In a large bowl, mix the seasoned breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture soak for at least 5 minutes.
Step 3: Combine Ingredients
- Add the ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and parsley to the soaked breadcrumbs.
- Gently mix with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
Step 4: Shape the Meatballs
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Wet your hands with water and roll each portion into 2-inch meatballs.
Step 5: Bake the Meatballs
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from the oven and drain any excess fat.
