Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine the Batter:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Bake the Bread:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Prepare the Topping:
    • While the bread is baking, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl.
  • Finish the Bread:
    • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer the bread to a wire rack.
    • Brush the melted butter generously over the top of the bread, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered surface.
  • Serve:
    • Slice and serve warm. Pair with coffee or tea for an extra cozy treat!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Add-Ins: For extra texture, fold in chopped nuts or raisins into the batter.
  • Variation: Drizzle a simple glaze over the top for added sweetness!
