- For the Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 2/3 cup warm milk
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- For the Filling
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and yeast.
- Add warm milk and vegetable oil, and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, mix chocolate chips and butter for the filling.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and flatten each piece.
- Place some chocolate filling in the center of each piece.
- Wrap the dough around the filling and pinch to seal.
- Place the buns on parchment squares and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Steam the buns over boiling water for 10–12 minutes.
- Remove from steamer and cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can add a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder to the filling for an extra flavor boost.
