Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated for safety)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 200 g dark chocolate (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the flour: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to eliminate any bacteria. Cool completely.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a bowl, cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugars until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add liquids: Mix in milk, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Incorporate flour and chocolate chips: Gradually mix in the heat-treated flour until smooth. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Form the bars: Line a loaf pan with parchment paper. Press the cookie dough evenly into the pan. Chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Melt chocolate: Melt dark chocolate in a microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  7. Dip bars: Cut chilled cookie dough into bars. Dip each bar into melted chocolate, ensuring an even coat. Place bars on a parchment-lined tray.
  8. Add toppings (optional): Sprinkle with extra mini chocolate chips or drizzle with white chocolate for decoration.
  9. Set the coating: Chill the bars in the refrigerator for 20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

  • Safety tip: Heat-treating flour eliminates potential contamination.
  • Storage: Keep bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Decorative option: White chocolate drizzle adds a festive touch.
