Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 5 boneless chicken breasts
  • Garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1 (10 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 soup can full of milk

For the Rolls:

  • 1 package crescent rolls

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken

  • Season: Sprinkle chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Shred: Let the chicken cool slightly, then chop or shred it into small pieces.

2. Make the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.

3. Assemble the Crescent Rolls

  • Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  • Add Filling: Spoon a portion of the chicken and cheese mixture onto the wider end of each triangle.
  • Roll Up: Roll the dough around the filling and place the rolls seam-side down in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

4. Prepare the Cheese Sauce

  • In a saucepan, mix the cream of chicken soup, milk, and remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

5. Bake

  • Pour Sauce: Pour the prepared cheese sauce evenly over the crescent rolls.
  • Bake: Place the dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.

6. Serve

  • Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or chives for a touch of color and flavor.

Notes

  • Variations: Add sautéed onions, mushrooms, or spinach to the chicken mixture for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: Assemble the rolls and cheese sauce in advance, refrigerate, and bake just before serving.
